I’ve got a cheap Linux box built out of abandoned hardware that I leave sitting on my desk at work.

We had a week long break at Christmas time and I got tired of looking at the cheap, cheap generic case that it was in – so I took it home for a bit of an overhaul!

The victim:

The weapons of choice for today:

Stripped down to the bare chassis

Removed the drive bezels, etc for painting

And about an hour later:

All reassembled; with a bit of gold paint on the buttons; and some woodgrain contact paper to cover the awful turquoise plastic:

Oh well, it only cost me about $10.00

…The things one does when they are bored and have free time.  :)
